Over the past year, I have supported several customers with their migration from UKG Ready Accruals 1.0 to Accruals 2.0. These projects have been very successful, and customers have been excited to take advantage of the enhanced functionality available in the new engine.
Some of the Accruals 2.0 capabilities that have delivered immediate value include:
- Effective dating of accrual profile configurations
- Effective dating of employee accrual profile assignments
- Improved “Balance As Of Date” reporting
- Greater flexibility between Time Off and Accrual Category assignments
While the migration itself is important, I have found that these projects also provide an excellent opportunity to review and improve overall accrual management processes. Areas that are often worth evaluating include:
- Ensuring existing Accruals 1.0 profiles are configured correctly
- Verifying employee accrual balances before migration
- Reviewing processes for employees who change positions and require different accrual profiles
From a project perspective, I have found the most successful approach is to run Accruals 1.0 and Accruals 2.0 in parallel during the migration. This allows Accruals 1.0 to remain the system of record while the project team validates Accruals 2.0 calculations, balances, and functionality before making the final transition.
Accruals 2.0 is a significant enhancement for UKG Ready customers and provides greater flexibility for managing complex accrual requirements.
